Aidan will deliver for Ann Arbor
Core Priorities:
-
Ann Arbor deserves reliable, modern infrastructure that reflects our values. Clean drinking water, walkable sidewalks, and efficient waste management are the fundamental promises a city must keep to its residents. I am committed to leveraging my experience with the Library Board to ensure our city services are not only dependable, but resilient against the increasing challenges of aging infrastructure and climate change.
I will work to ensure that city services are as responsive and accountable as the people of Ann Arbor deserve. Drawing on my early professional experience in technical operations and support systems, I spent years diagnosing complex issues, managing high-volume ticketing queues, and scaling process improvements to eliminate bottlenecks. I understand that a system like A2 Fix It is only as good as its follow-through, and I am committed to modernizing our response protocols so that requests are not just closed, but actually resolved.
-
We are in the midst of a housing crisis that is pushing out the very essential workers, families, and seniors who make Ann Arbor whole. I will advocate for expanding our housing supply through dense, transit-oriented developments, and equitable zoning. On the Library Board, I’ve already helped lead this charge by advancing a new downtown branch that integrates mixed-income and affordable housing. We must build a city where people of all income levels can afford to live, work, and retire.
-
Dependable transportation powers our economy and keeps our neighborhoods connected. I’m committed to upgrading our transit infrastructure, as well as delivering the roads and sidewalks that Ward Four residents deserve. That begins with a focus on pedestrian safety, improving bus reliability, and maintaining our streets so that every resident can travel with confidence.
Additional Priorities:
-
I believe in a City Hall that is accessible, inclusive, and responsive to every resident. Because our government is most effective when it reflects its community, I will work to center these voices in every decision we make. That same commitment extends to our City budget, where I will bring my experience on the Library Board to guarantee our tax dollars are spent effectively and transparently.
-
Small businesses are the heartbeat of our local economy, and city bureaucracy shouldn't be a barrier to their success. I will apply my professional background to simplify city permitting and licensing processes, making it easier for Ann Arbor’s entrepreneurs to thrive. By streamlining these systems, we protect the local ownership and dynamic energy of corridors like Stadium Boulevard and Packard.
-
Tackling the climate crisis is an economic, racial, and generational imperative that requires urgent, science-based action. I will champion the goals of A2Zero by expanding active infrastructure, safeguarding our green spaces, and investing in resilient stormwater systems. We must act now to secure our neighborhoods against the threat of catastrophic weather.
-
Our safety strategies need to protect and respect every resident, regardless of their background. We achieve this through a holistic approach that pairs traditional law enforcement with unarmed crisis response teams for mental health and social emergencies. To ensure these systems work for everyone, I am committed to increasing transparency and supporting the goals of the Independent Community Police Oversight Commission.
-
Having lived in apartments for over 25 years from the time I was a child, I personally understand the uncertainty and vulnerability that come with being a renter when housing is unaffordable. I will fight for robust tenant protections and expanded legal resources to ensure that no resident is ever forced out by unfair practices or poor living conditions. My priority is to strengthen our local ordinances so that every Ann Arbor renter can enjoy the long-term stability and dignity of a home that is safe and truly affordable."
